This painting along with 2 others will be featured in a figurative invitational show at Tinney Contemporary (Nashivlle) in August.
Other great news from Nashville: I am featured on the cover of the Nashville Arts magazine this month and inside, a two page feature with an article written by Betsy Wills of Artstormer.
As a young artist in my formative years, Andy Warhol was my favorite artist. My artistic idol you could say. I know this is just a random coincidence, but I never dreamed that one day I would be sharing the cover of an art magazine with him. I take it as a little smile from above…thanks, Andy.

I painted this painting using the new QoR watercolor by Golden. The QoR paints are not on the market yet, but will be in just a few weeks. Golden has developed a new binder that holds 40% more pigment and after testing, I can honestly say that it’s true. These new paints are incredible. In my process, my technique of layering color, gives an iridescent quality that can only be seen in person. My apologies for an inferior photos here.

Here is a little 8″ x 8″ painting that I finished today. It was another test painting using only Payne’s gray. Enjoy!

April was a busy month for me. Here are several paintings from the past 5 weeks. I usually post my paintings while in process and completed on Instagram and Facebook. The links are to the right if you’d like to follow me.
This painting is in an invitational figurative show that opens on May 9th at Miller Gallery in Cincinnati.

This is a little painting that I did as a test. I’ve been testing panels and surfaces for Ampersand over the past month.

This painting was a special piece that I painted for a new collector that lives on the Isle of Anglesey. I love shipping my work overseas.
“there is time left”

This painting went to Wally Workman Gallery a few weeks ago. It sold quickly! After spending years painting my figures in white space, I have to admit that I am enjoying painting them in black space. Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback!
